I recently flew into San Francisco International Airport and had a 5 hour layover before my onward flight to Newark Liberty airport.

An hour-long wait to clear immigration soaked up a chunk of that time and, after stumbling around the seemingly perpetual construction that seems to blight all airports nowadays while I spent more time looking for the United Airlines lounge—which I never found— so I settled for a seat along the walkway connecting terminals 2 and 3.

The passing traffic consisted mainly of fellow passengers, aircrew and ground-staff to and from their flights and construction workers off to or returning from their lunch break.

Most strolled or walked at middling pace. Occasionally there would be a burst of runners, late to land and dashing between terminals to catch their next flight.

After a while i pulled out my camera and took some shots, the graphics on the opposite wall providing a useful framing device for my photos.

A slow shutter speed and the speeds of some of the passing walkers and runners provided a pleasing—to my eye at least—distortion and blurring of at least parts of the quicker passers by, with other parts still sharp.

Here are some favourites.
